Portugal’s Best Airbnb Decor to Inspire Your Interiors
Cordoaria 2nd Floor, River View – Porto
If modern living is right up your street, this perfect Portugal Airbnb is more than worthy of a spot on your Airbnb bucket list. Flaunting open concept design like it’s going out of fashion, the split-level feature creates separation where it’s needed most without creating a disconnect in the home. Yet each living space somehow still feels cosy and intimate, making you forget there’s a total lack of privacy (bar an enclosed toilet).
With beautiful rich wood tones spanning floor-to-ceiling, there’s a warmth that embraces you the moment you step foot inside. And it’s only enhanced by the rays of sunshine that flood through the balcony doors.
The Japandi style kitchen is streamlined and compact, showing off the beauty of simple, no-fuss, and highly functional design. Though the irregularity of the Tetris-esque overhead cabinets introduces subtle visual intrigue, ripe for dressing up with stunning crockery pieces.
But one thing you can’t help but love about this space is its impeccably devised custom joinery. From the kitchen bar-cum-couch to the drawers hidden below the elevated floor, this Porto apartment may be pocket-sized, but its design is nothing short of pure genius!

Studio Deluxe – Coimbra
Even if you only spent a day exploring Portugal, you’d quickly learn that they value beautiful architecture extremely highly. From tile-clad homes to intricately carved statues taking pride of place on stunning cultural landmarks, Portuguese buildings feature plenty of one-of-a-kind embellishments.
But it’s not just the exterior. Inside this gorgeous Coimbra apartment is an immaculately carved wood ceiling that undoubtedly set the tone for the entire space. Paired with minimal, clean, and neutral decor, there’s no way this phenomenal architectural feature would ever go unnoticed.
Much to our delight, we were also lucky enough to have a peek into one of the other apartments in this building (see the left image above). How incredible that the property owners have embraced irregularity and imperfection by making this angular arch *the* feature of the room?

Casa do Largo – Lisbon
Full to bursting with personality, this is definitely one of the most embellished vacation apartments we’ve stayed in. And although the bold, transitional-eclectic decor isn’t to everyone’s taste, it really felt like the owner had made a conscious effort to bring the outside in. Bright splashes of yellow reflect Lisbon’s famous trams, intriguing artwork mirrors the city’s street art, and refurbished furniture pieces nod to the country’s rich history.
We adore how the owner is clearly influenced by a myriad of interior styles and isn’t afraid to welcome them all into their space. For example, the vintage style light fixtures, the modern table, and the mish-mash of trinkets, collectables, and ornaments are all pieces that shouldn’t work together, yet somehow they do.
And one thing we particularly liked about this homey inner-city stay was how the bedroom was decorated with a much more muted palette. Inspiring calm and relaxation, it feels apt for the space, but still flaunts dinky details that connect the bedroom to the rest of the apartment. We don’t know about you, but we’d say this is exactly how to execute eclectic styling throughout your interior.

Old Town House – Peniche
Again, this stunning little apartment reflects the breathtaking scenery just moments from its front door. Nestled in the largest fishing port in Portugal, which is also the country’s surfing hotspot, the town is surrounded by sparkling turquoise waters and cliff tops adorned with luscious greenery.
We’d assume the modern mint green kitchen and inviting teal bedrooms (not pictured) are intentional design statements to mirror the beauty of Peniche. And although we’re normally complete suckers for neutral interiors, we can’t help but feel inspired to inject a bright pop of colour into our future homes!

Vila Município, “Urban Chic” – Sintra
Confession: we cheated. This unbelievable Sintra suite is actually courtesy of Booking.com, but it’s far too good not to include in this post. And, we know it’ll give you plenty of interiors inspo.
First off, let’s dive into the sole reason we booked this apartment – the mezzanine. Creating a much-needed divide in this cosy, intimate home, the decor feels beautifully harmonised despite being split across two floors. We also love the slightly industrial, stripped-back look of the exposed wooden beams and steel support rods. It’s an interior concept that won’t work for every space, but if it’s possible, it’s a definite must.
In the living space, clever open plan design allows light to flow through, creating a bright, inviting feel.
The kitchen is a brilliant example of how to make use of awkward, oddly shaped spaces. Peep the outward facing cabinet on the left, which is used as a fridge-freezer combo!
And we couldn’t not mention the bathroom. Bright and airy with gorgeous boho and rustic touches, the neutral tones, soft textures, and added greenery makes it a welcoming space bursting with style.
But undoubtedly, the most visually intriguing room has to be the boudoir. Flaunting a higgledy-piggledy vaulted ceiling, the space is literally engulfed in character. We adore how the property owners have chosen not to focus the attention on what’s above you, but instead make you notice the smaller details. Things like the incredible leaning artwork, the mirrored bedside table, and the bold blend of patterns and textures.

Stunning Apartment in Lisbon’s Heart by LovelyStay – Lisbon
For those that feel at home in contemporary spaces, this Lisbon apartment is everything. Most notably, the property has a strong focus on clean lines and minimal styling. This creates an undoubtedly timeless aesthetic but one that’s easy to blend with on-trend pieces, such as the rattan dining chairs.
High-shine accessories such as the table lamp and fruit bowl nod to more futuristic design styles. But they’re small enough not to steal all the attention. And whilst a neutral palette is favourable in contemporary interiors, splashes of mustard yellow introduce a warm, homey feel.
But what you can’t appreciate from inside this luxe apartment is how the Airbnb decor is a mirror image of the exterior. That’s until you step onto the wrap-around balcony and get a glimpse of Lisbon’s incredibly striking, colourful architecture. From here, it’s easy to understand the exact design choices of this super cool space.

Central Triplex w/ Rooftop – Faro
At this point in our travels, we’d come to the conclusion that there are no rules regarding Portuguese home decor. And this notion was only solidified when we stepped foot inside this beautiful Faro triplex.
Located in the Algarve’s capital, we instantly clocked the beachy, laid-back vibes of the place. Blending glorious textures of linen, wicker, and cotton alongside warm-toned woods, the Airbnb decor feels relaxed and homey, yet still perfectly put together.
The kitchen, although wonderfully functional as it should be, featured plenty of pretty decorative elements. From the statement pendants to the hand-painted crockery, this room is proof that practical spaces do not have to be void of style or personality.
On the first floor were two large bedrooms showing off sweet boho touches with macrame wall hangings and dried plants. Again, these simple additions give the apartment a snug feel, taking away from the starkness of the plain white walls. Even the top floor terrace feels cosy and intimate thanks to the overhead awning.
But the thing we loved the most? Despite having multiple rooms across different floors, the continuity of quality materials used throughout makes the home feel like one big cosy space. We could’ve quite simply stayed forever.
